Dan Morris Photography is proud to offer the highest quality archival fine art Giclée prints.

Pronounced "zhee-clay", (La) Giclée, the feminine noun version of the French verb Gicler, means "that which is sprayed or squirted." The process is named such because the method, first developed in 1989, involves squirting microscopic dots of ink onto fine quality art paper and is considered one of the most significant breakthroughs in digital imaging today.

This new method of creating limited edition prints begins with a scanned copy transparency or direct digital scan of the original work. A proof print is prepared and approved before the image is output on professional papers created specifically for the top-of-the-line Epson printers. We offer canvas, watercolor or fine art smooth. These unique papers allow a look and feel previously unavailable in traditional film developing and printing. Based on accelerated aging tests, manufacturers claim Giclée prints have a life span of 80 to 100 years before any visible fading occurs.

The prints are made on an Epson 9800 and benefit from Epson UltraChrome K3 ink technology. Quality output and longevity are the result of incorporating high density pigments that produce prints with an expanded color gamut that is further enhanced by the unique three level black ink technology produced by Epson.

What is included in the price?:

Prints are unmounted, with a 1/2 to 2 inch wide (depending on print size) white border on all sides to facilitate framing. We prefer not to offer matting or framing, since individual preferences vary so much, and recommend that instead you choose the frame yourself at a good frame shop. Each print is made to order. After a proof is made, the final print is inspected by the photographer before shipping. Utah sales tax will be added for Utah residents.

Due to operating system and screen differences, and sometimes more elaborate image preparation done prior to printing, there might be color and lightness variations between the image you saw on the web and the print.
